Prizes/Awards
Awarded lot of prizes and certificates during student life (primary school to University levels) for excellent performances in the extra-academic curriculum activities e.g. Debate, Extempore speech, Story telling, Talk as you like, Best presentation in the Science Exhibition, and elected Literature and Magazine Secretary in the Government Intermediate College, Chittagong (Now Government Mohsin College) in ‘Science Students Council’ in 1972, and published a College Magazine ‘Prawpat’ as editor.

- 1989–‘Best Scientist’ -BAAS Award (Bangladesh Association for the Advancement of Science)
1998–Fellow, Zoological Society of Bangladesh (FZSB) for outstanding service. - 2002-Scientific Achievements Award, North Carolina, USA for remarkable contribution in Fisheries
- 2006-Best Research Presentation Award-by BFRF (Bangladesh Fisheries Research Forum).
- 2008-Best Research Presentation Award by the Faculty of Biological Science, Chittagong University
- 2012- Best Research Presentation Award on the occasion of Observation of International day for Biological Diversity, By the BCEMRG-CU, Faculty of Biological Sciences, Chittagong University
